Payment Modes

The LinkPoint® Connect service offers three payment modes to allow merchants the flexibility to choose which data fields they wish to collect and store on their own Web site system vs. the fields they want the LinkPoint® Connect service to collect.

The three payment modes are described below.

FullPay Mode

The FullPay option is the simplest payment processing solution for an online merchant. The merchant's server sends the final transaction total to the LinkPoint® Connect service. All of the customer billing and shipping information is collected on a LinkPoint® Connect SSL-secured (Secure Sockets Layer) payment form and stored in a database. Merchants extract this information through LinkPoint® Central Reports.

PayPlus Mode

The PayPlus option collects less information on the LinkPoint® Connect SSL-secure page, but gives the merchant more flexibility. The merchant order form includes the customer address fields, which are transferred to the LinkPoint® Secure Payment Gateway. This information is available to the merchant in LinkPoint® Central Reports. (In this case, we recommend the merchant order form be located on a server secured with SSL to protect customer privacy.)

PayOnly Mode

The PayOnly option collects the minimum information required to complete an electronic transaction on the LinkPoint® Connect SSL-secured page. The merchant's server sends the final transaction total to the LinkPoint® Connect service.
Since only payment data is collected by the LinkPoint® Connect service, LinkPoint® Central reports will not include customer billing or shipping information. The merchant must collect this information on their own Web server. Merchants can also choose to bypass the LinkPoint® Connect payment form altogether by collecting all required data fields on their own Web sites. This scenario requires the merchant to have a secure Web server and the appropriate expertise to manage and transport sensitive data on the Internet.
